Explore Trøndelag will use Trondheim 2025 to put Trøndelag on the map as a winter destination.

Trondheim and Trøndelag will be the focus of all attention from the skiing world during the World Championships in Trondheim from February 26 to March 9. National and international TV broadcasts will reach 150 million viewers and generate 350 million social media hits. Explore Trøndelag will take advantage of this attention.

“Large events are an important part of marketing that create massive media attention and increased traffic to Trøndelag as a destination. It’s only natural for us to invest in the World Ski Championships, which will spark interest from millions of people worldwide,” says Petra Sestak-Flagestad, Tourism Director at Explore Trøndelag.

Explore Trøndelag has agreed to become the tourism partner for the World Ski Championships in Trondheim, with Trondheim 2025 and Infront Sports & Media.

“It is fantastic that we have been allowed to become the Touristic Partner for the World Ski Championships. Winter tourism is a great fit for Trøndelag, and here we will be able to showcase everything Trøndelag has to offer to a broad international audience,” says Christian Wee, Chairman of Trøndelag Reiseliv.

“An important ripple effect of the World Championships project is that Trondheim and Trøndelag are marketed to the whole world through the TV coverage. At the venue, we showcase Trøndelag’s culture and food. As the tourism partner, Explore Trøndelag will gain extensive visibility during the Championships, also on TV and in the media,” says Jensen.
