The government has allocated 10 million kroner to Trondheim 2025.
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre confirmed the news to Adresseavisen on Thursday afternoon.
“Now the cold, beautiful season is here, and we’re counting down to the World Championships in Granåsen. It’s going to be a fantastic event, and the government is pleased that we can contribute an additional 10 million kroner to the execution of the event at the end of the year,” Støre told the regional newspaper.
The funding will go toward the execution of the championships and is not earmarked for specific purposes.
Trondheim 2025 CEO Åge Skinstad expressed relief and gratitude for the government’s pre-Christmas gift.
“These are ten much-needed millions—thank you so much! We remain focused on giving 22 million kroner back to grassroots sports. This is incredibly motivating for the hardworking World Championship team,” said Skinstad.
